They performed a check of my roof with a drone. Then they sent me a link so I could see what they found and they circled where the parts are that were damaged. Now I have to make a decision as to what I am going to follow up with. I believe I am going to have them walk the roof to see if there is any close-up damage that the drone did not catch and then repair what needs to be done after I hear their price. So far, I have no leaks inside the house.🙏 Hope it stays that way.
Example home with a stone-coated steel roof
In town, the question we hear most is "will it look like a barn?" It does not have to. Stone-coated steel is made to look like wood shake, clay tile or thick shingles, so it fits a street of traditional homes.
Many Dallas County neighborhoods have rules on roof materials. Check with your homeowners’ association or the city before you choose, and we will give you the product sheets they ask for.
On April 25, 2026, hail up to 3 inches across was reported in southwest Dallas County. If hail is the reason you are thinking about metal, ask us about Class 4 rated roofs.

What a metal roof job includes
- A look at the roof you have and the wood under it
- A written price, next to a shingle price if you want one
- The old roof removed
- New underlayment made for metal roofs
- Panels cut to fit your roof
- Matching trim at every edge, valley and vent
- Cleanup and a final walk-through
Metal makes sense if
- You plan to stay in the house a long time
- You are tired of losing shingles to wind
- You have a shop, barn or porch to cover
- You like the look
- You need a new roof anyway and want to compare

Justin, came out a surveyed the roof with his drone. I was amazed at the amount of detail he was able to capture with it. His report is though and detailed, found very minor items needing attention. I have ask him for a quote to for the resealing around the vent pipes.

Questions people ask
Do you travel to Dallas County for metal roofs?
Yes. Our office is in Crowley, and we work the west and south sides of Dallas County most.
Is a metal roof loud in the rain?
On a house, with a solid deck and underlayment below it, most people say it is close to a shingle roof. An open barn roof is a different story.
Does a metal roof make the house hotter?
No. Metal reflects a lot of the sun’s heat, and light colors reflect the most.
How much more is metal than shingles?
More up front, and the gap depends on the roof and the panel. We price both in writing.
Can hail dent a metal roof?
Large hail can leave marks on some panels. Ask us which panels carry a Class 4 impact rating, the top one.
