Each panel is a sheet of steel with crushed stone bonded to the top. The steel gives it strength. The stone gives it color and texture, so from the street it reads as shake, tile or a thick shingle.
It carries the top hail rating, Class 4, and the top fire rating, Class A. It is rated for 140 mph wind. The maker rates it to last 50 years.
It costs more than shingles up front. It is for people who plan to stay in the house and do not want to do this again.

Our pilot flies from your driveway or the street and takes pictures of every part of your roof. If something needs a closer look, he checks it up close by hand. Nobody comes inside.
You need to be home. We need your OK to fly over your house, and you see the pictures before we leave.
It comes by email or link, with dated photos and anything we found circled. It is free and it is yours to keep. If your roof is fine, the report says so.

Straight answers
More than shingles up front. The number depends on the size and shape of your roof, so we price each house on its own, in writing.
There is a foam pad under every panel, and the maker says it is as quiet as a shingle roof.
The maker backs the panels with a 50-year limited warranty. It covers the panels and it is prorated, which means the coverage steps down over time. Ask us for the full terms before you decide.
Ask your agent what a Class 4 roof does to your premium. Your policy and your insurance company decide that.
